Ingredients

  • 2 cups Spanish onion / Bermuda Onion
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Cut large Spanish onion or Bermuda onion crosswise into 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick slices. Separate into rings.
  • Dry onion rings and coat with flour. Make batter using baking powder, egg, salt, and milk.
  • Dip onions into batter letting excess drip off and fry in hot oil until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
