How To Make Chicken Santorini

  • 2 lb frying chicken
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 celery rib, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup cheese, grated
  • salt
  • pepper
  • water


  1. Clean chicken and cut into pieces. Wash well with cold running water, drain and pat dry. Heat butter and oil in 6-qt. pot.

  2. Add onion, green pepper, garlic and celery, and cook until soft. Add chicken pieces and cook until brown on all sides.

  3. Combine wine, tomato sauce, cheese, salt, pepper and 1/2 water in bowl and mix well. Pour over chicken.

  4. Cover pot and simmer for 40 minutes or until chicken is done. Serve with white rice or pasta.
