- 3cupspowdered sugar
- ½tspcream of tartar

In a mixing bowl, whip the egg whites until foamy.

Add the cream of tartar, then continue to mix for 30 seconds.

Add in the powdered sugar a little bit at a time, mixing well.

Once the powdered sugar is incorporated, turn the mixer to high and continue beating for 3 to 5 minutes until thick and the icing holds its shape.
