
How To Make Fresh Lemon Buttercream Frosting

- 2lemons
- ¾cupbutter
- ¼cupshortening
- 3cupspowdered sugar
- ½tsplemon extract,optional
Instructions

Zest both lemons, then set the zests aside.

Juice one of the lemons to make 2 tablespoons of juice. Reserve the remaining lemons for another use.

Cream the butter and shortening in a bowl with a mixer on medium until light and fluffy. Add the lemon zest, juice, and extract. Mix well.

Add the powdered sugar ½ cup at a time, then beat until light and fluffy.

To thicken the consistency, add more powdered sugar. To soften the consistency, add more lemon juice if required.
