How To Make Classic Buttercream Frosting

Whip up this no-fuss, four-ingredient classic buttercream frosting for your favorite desserts! It’s simple, flavorful, and takes only 10 minutes to make.

Ingredients

  • 1cupunsalted butter
  • 3cupspowdered sugar
  • 1tspvanilla extract
  • 2tbspheavy cream

Instructions

  1. To a stand mixer on low speed, cream the butter.

  2. Add in the powdered sugar in ½ cup increments until fully combined, then raise the speed to medium-high for an 2 additional minutes.

  3. Add in the vanilla and heavy cream, then beat until light and fluffy for an additional 1 minute.

  4. Serve over cupcakes, and enjoy!
