Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, boneless
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (162°C).

  2. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to make the dry rub for the pork shoulder.

  3. Rub the dry rub all over the pork shoulder, making sure to coat it evenly.

  4. Place the pork shoulder in a roasting pan or Dutch oven and cover with aluminum foil.

  5. Roast in the oven for 3-4 hours, or until the pork is tender and easy to shred with a fork.

  6. Remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  7. Using two forks, shred the pork into small pieces.

  8. In a saucepan, heat the barbecue sauce over medium heat until warmed through.

  9. Add the shredded pork to the saucepan and stir until the pork is coated in the barbecue sauce.

  10. Toast the hamburger buns.

  11. Serve the pulled pork on the toasted buns and enjoy!
