Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, boneless
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).

  2. In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the mixture all over the pork shoulder.

  3. Heat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the pork shoulder and sear on all sides until browned, about 5-6 minutes per side.

  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.

  5. Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the seared pork shoulder in the Dutch oven.

  6. Cover the Dutch oven with a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven. Cook for 3-4 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  7. Remove the Dutch oven from the oven and transfer the pork shoulder to a cutting board. Shred the pork using two forks.

  8. Skim off any excess fat from the sauce in the Dutch oven. Return the shredded pork to the Dutch oven and mix it with the sauce.

  9. Serve the pulled pork on hamburger buns and enjoy!
