How To Make Seafood Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb white fish fillets, cut into chunks
  • 1 lb scallops
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, diced
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes (14.5 oz each)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
  • 1 can tomato paste (6 oz)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the onions, garlic, bell peppers, and jalapeno pepper. Cook until the vegetables are softened.

  2. Add the shrimp, fish, and scallops to the pot. Cook for a few minutes until the seafood turns opaque.

  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  4. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let the chili simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. Serve the seafood chili hot, garnished with chopped cilantro and lime wedges.
