How To Make Creamy Chicken Drumsticks In A Crockpot

  • 1 lb chicken drumsticks
  • 14½ oz can chicken broth
  • 15 oz canned button mushrooms (drained)
  • 10¾ oz can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 stalk celery (chopped, roughly 2¾ oz)
  • 1 small red onion (diced, roughly 4½ oz)
  • 2 oz carrots (shredded)
  • 2 tbsp garlic (minced)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (powdered or shredded)
  • ½ cup sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  1. Combine chicken, broth, mushrooms, cream of chicken soup, celery, onion, carrot and garlic in slow cooker.
  2. Cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours.
  3. Set to low and remove chicken drumsticks, reserving vegetable mixture in cooker.
  4. In a small skillet, melt 1/2 C. butter and add 1/4 C. flour and stir constantly until smooth.
  5. Remove 1 C. chicken liquid from crock pot and slowly stir into roux mixture.
  6. Add back to crock pot and stir until incorporated and thickened.
  7. Add chicken back to cooker and keep on low until ready to serve.
  8. Sprinkle each serving with cheese.
