How To Make Copycat Joella’s Fried Chicken

  • ½ lb chicken drumsticks
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 5 eggs (beaten with 1 tbsp of water)
  • frying oil (enough to simmer the chicken in)

Flour Mixture

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp dried sage
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  1. Rinse and pat dry the chicken.
  2. Place the chicken in a bowl with buttermilk and cover it.
  3. Let it chill for at least two hours.
  4. Whisk together the flour mixture ingredients in a separate large bowl.
  5. Whisk the eggs in another bowl as well.
  6. Dredge the chicken in the flour, then dip it in the egg, and back into the flour.
  7. Fry the chicken in a large pot with the oil.
  8. Fry for about 10-15 minutes.
