  • 1 sheet of ready-made puff pastry
  • 4 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup treacle (or molasses)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a tart pan or a pie dish.

  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and line the prepared pan, trimming any excess.

  3. In a bowl, combine the sliced apples, treacle, melted butter, ground cinnamon, sugar, flour, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are well coated.

  4. Arrange the apple mixture evenly over the pastry in the pan.

  5. Bake the tart for 40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the pastry is golden brown.

  6. Allow the tart to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
