Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup of sugar
- ½ tsp of salt
- ½ cup of unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3 tbsp of ice water
- 1 cup of prunes, pitted and chopped
- ½ cup of mixed nuts, chopped
- ¼ cup of honey
- 2 tbsp of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
-
In a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
-
With the machine running, slowly add the ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.
-
Remove the dough from the food processor and shape into a disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and fit it into a 9-inch tart pan. Trim any excess dough.
-
In a bowl, combine the prunes, nuts, honey, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
-
Spread the prune and nut mixture evenly over the tart crust.
-
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
-
Remove from the oven and let cool before dusting with powdered sugar.
-
Serve and enjoy!
