Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup of sugar
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3 tbsp of ice water
  • 1 cup of prunes, pitted and chopped
  • ½ cup of mixed nuts, chopped
  • ¼ cup of honey
  • 2 tbsp of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  2. With the machine running, slowly add the ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.

  3. Remove the dough from the food processor and shape into a disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and fit it into a 9-inch tart pan. Trim any excess dough.

  5. In a bowl, combine the prunes, nuts, honey, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

  6. Spread the prune and nut mixture evenly over the tart crust.

  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.

  8. Remove from the oven and let cool before dusting with powdered sugar.

  9. Serve and enjoy!
