How To Make Homemade Fondant Recipe

This homemade fondant recipe is perfect for decorating cakes, cupcakes and cookies. It’s easy to make and tastes delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tbsp glycerin
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 cups powdered sugar
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, sprinkle gelatin over water. Let stand for 2 minutes.

  2. Microwave on high for 30 seconds or until gelatin is dissolved. Add corn syrup, glycerin and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  3. In another bowl, sift powdered sugar. Gradually add gelatin mixture and stir until dough forms.

  4. Knead for 8-10 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic. Add food coloring if desired.

  5. Shape fondant into a ball and wrap with plastic wrap. Store in a cool, dry place until ready to use.
