  • ½cupwhite whole wheat flour
  • 1tspbaking powder
  • 3tbspsugar
  • ¼tspsalt
  • 2lemons zest
  • 1tbsplemon juice
  • 1tsppure vanilla extract
  • 2eggs
  • 2tbspunsalted buttermelted
  • 1cupsour creamcan use regular or low fat
  • ½cupmilk
  • cooking spray


  1. Preheat waffle iron.

  2. Mix together all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix together the wet ingredients.

  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  4. Grease the waffle iron with cooking spray and cook according to manufacturer instructions and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.

  5. Serve with maple syrup.
