Ingredients

  • 4 green tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cilantro, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, let them crackle.

  2. Add garlic, ginger and onions, saute until golden brown.

  3. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt.

  4. Add chopped tomatoes and mix well, cook for 5-7 minutes until tomatoes are soft.

  5. Add water and simmer on low heat for 10-12 minutes.

  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with rice or roti.
