Tender ground pork meatballs in a delicious homemade tomato sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, parsley, egg, salt and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar and water to the skillet. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add the meatballs to the skillet, making sure they are coated in the sauce. Cover the skillet and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot with pasta or crusty bread.
