German Meat Cakes Recipe

Meat cakes are a traditional German dish made with three types of meat and bread. They are a tasty and simple alternative to hamburgers, as well.

How To Make German Meat Cakes

  • 2/3 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/3 lb. ground pork
  • 1/3 lb. ground veal
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 2 slices soft sandwich bread (torn into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. Form the meat mixture into 6 flat patties and set aside.
  3. Broil the patties in the oven until both sides are browned and the patties are cooked all the way through.
