Ingredients

  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.

  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.

  3. Add chicken pieces and cook until they turn white.

  4. Add tomato puree and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  5. Add all the spices – curry powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

  6. Cover the pan and let it simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and tender.

  7. Stir in garam masala and cook for another minute.

  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

  9. Serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
