Use a melon-baller for an extra touch to this mint-spiked fizzy drink.

This refreshing strawberry fizz has got a minty taste to it.

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 5 sprigs fresh mint
  • 1 qt fresh strawberries , halved
  • 2 cups honeydew, cubed
  • 1 ¾ cup cantaloupe, cubed
  • ginger ale , or sparkling white grape juice


  1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, water and mint; bring to a boil.
  2. Boil and stir until a candy thermometer reads 240 degrees F (soft ball stage).

  3. Remove from the heat; allow to cool.
  4. Discard mint.
  5. Combine the strawberries and melon.
  6. Just before serving, fill tall glasses with fruit and drizzle with 1 tablespoon syrup.

  7. Add ginger ale to each.
