Ingredients

  • 1 bag vanilla wafers
  • 6 ripe bananas sliced
  • 6 large egg yolks reserve eggs whites for topping
  • 12 oz evaporated milk
  • 12 oz water
  • 17 oz granulated sugar plus 2 tablespoons for topping
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Take out a bowl and mix together the 2 cups of sugar and flour.

  2. Add the egg yolks and stir until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  3. Pour in the milk and 1 can of water then stir all of the ingredients until they are thoroughly mixed together.

  4. Cook the mixture over medium-high heat and regularly stir until the pudding forms a thick consistency. Remove the pudding from heat once it thickens.

  5. Take out a large bowl and cover the inner bottom portion with a single layer of vanilla wafers. After doing that, layer the banana slices on top of the wafers.

  6. Pour enough pudding on top of the wafers and bananas so that the bottom portion of both ingredients are completely coated. Alternate until all of the ingredients have been used.

  7. Now take out a smaller bowl and whip the egg whites until they stiffen, then add the vanilla and two tablespoons of sugar and mix.

  8. Pour the mixture on top of the banana pudding. Afterward, bake it in the oven for 1 hour at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until the pudding turns golden brown.

  9. Once your pudding is done baking, serve it and enjoy!
