Ingredients
- 1 pound ground venison
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Shredded cheese, chopped green onions, and sour cream for garnish (optional)
Instructions

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the venison and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

Add the onion, garlic, and jalapeno pepper to the pot. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let it simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Serve hot, garnished with shredded cheese, chopped green onions, and sour cream if desired.
