Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced cucumbers
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cucumber slices and onion slices.

  2. In a small saucepan, heat the vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard seeds, celery seeds, and turmeric over medium heat. Stir until the sugar and salt are dissolved.

  3. Pour the vinegar mixture over the cucumber and onion slices. Stir to coat all the slices.

  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor.

  5. Serve the sweet refrigerator pickles chilled. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
