  • 8 slices of bread
  • 8 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons of butter, softened


  1. Lay out 4 slices of bread on a clean surface.

  2. Place 2 slices of cheddar cheese on each slice of bread.

  3. Top with the remaining 4 slices of bread.

  4. Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each sandwich.

  5. Preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat.

  6. Place the sandwiches, butter side down, on the skillet or grill pan.

  7. Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the top side of each sandwich.

  8. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottom side is golden brown.

  9. Flip the sandwiches and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.

  10. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
