If you love tuna sandwiches, then you’ll love this effortless tuna melt recipe! We recommend using a toaster oven to make this savory warm sandwich but you can grill it on the stovetop too.

How To Make Easy Tuna Melt

  • 1 can tuna
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1/4 cup red onion (diced finely)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 4 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 4 slices bread
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  1. Preheat toaster oven to 350ºF.

  2. In a small bowl combine tuna, mayo, and red onion together until mixed fully.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Spread 1 tbsp butter onto one side of each slice of bread and place on a baking sheet.

  5. Place 2 slices of cheese onto 2 slices of bread and spoon about a cup of tuna on top of the cheese.

  6. Top with the remaining buttered slices of bread.

  7. Place the baking sheet into the toaster oven and for 5-15 minutes or until the bread is golden brown. Serve warm.
