How To Make Classic Pot Roast

Ingredients
- 5lbschuck roast
- 2tbspcanola oil
- 2tspkosher salt
- 1tspblack pepper,coarse ground
- 1tspdried thyme
- 1lbcarrots,peeled, cut into 2-inch chunks
- 2lbsyukon gold potatoes,peeled, cut into large chunks
- 2garlic cloves,minced
- 2cupsbeef broth
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Season the chuck roast with the salt, pepper and thyme.

Add the canola oil to a pan, then allow to heat.

When the oil ripples and is hot, add in the roast, then brown it deeply for 4 to 5 minutes on each side.

Add the carrots, potatoes, garlic and beef broth.

Cook for 3 to 3½ hours.
