How To Make Unbelievable Fish Batter Recipe

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup beer (any kind you prefer)
  • 1 lb fish fillets (cod, haddock, or tilapia)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)


  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. Slowly pour in the beer while whisking to form a smooth batter. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.

  3. Pat the fish fillets dry with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper on both sides.

  4. In a deep skillet or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. Dip each fish fillet into the batter, coating it completely, and then carefully place it into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.

  6. Fry the fish for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  7. Serve the fish batter with tartar sauce, lemon wedges, or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
