Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp of ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of evaporated milk
  • 1 pre-made pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and then add them to the pumpkin mixture. Stir until fully combined.

  4. Gradually add evaporated milk while continuing to stir the mixture.

  5. Place the pre-made pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the pumpkin filling into the pie crust.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 40-45 minutes until the center is set.

  7. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely before serving.

  8. Serve chilled with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
