Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breasts, chopped
- 1 lb asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Cooking spray
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

In a large skillet, heat some cooking spray over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant.

Add the asparagus pieces to the skillet and sauté for another 2 minutes.

Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes until the asparagus is slightly tender.

Stir in the heavy cream, shredded cheddar cheese, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the cheese is melted and the sauce is well combined.

Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to combine with the sauce.

Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
