How To Make Braised Celery (Irish)

A simple but flavorful side dish that perfectly matches with meat.

  • 1 head celery
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tsp parsley (chopped )
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 10 oz stock
  • salt
  • pepper (to taste)
  • 1 oz butter
  1. Clean celery, cut into one-inch pieces and place in a casserole dish.

  2. Finely chop bacon and onion and sprinkle over celery along with chopped parsley.

  3. Pour on the stock.

  4. Dot with knobs of butter.

  5. Cover dish and bake in a moderate oven for 30 to 45 minutes.
