How To Make Beer Braised Chicken Wings

These beer braised chicken wings tossed in beer glaze will satisfy chicken and booze lovers.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb chicken wings
  • 1 cup beer, preferably pale ale or lager
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp mustard powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper

For Glaze:

  • ½ cup beer, preferably pale ale or lager
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard, prepared
  • ½ tsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oil, beer, chicken, and all your spices. Toss to combine.

  2. Cover and set aside in a chilled area. Allow to marinate for at least an hour.

  3. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and prepare your glaze while waiting.

  4. Combine all the ingredients for the glaze in a saucepot. Whisk until cornstarch has dissolved.

  5. Bring glaze to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Continue simmering until reduced by half and thickened roughly 5 to 8 minutes. Stir occasionally and set aside in a warm area.

  6. Transfer the chicken wings to a roasting pan, then pour beer around the chicken.

  7. Braise in the oven until chickens are fully cooked, roughly an hour.

  8. Drain from the braising pan, then transfer into a large bowl. Pour your warm glaze and toss until evenly coated. Serve immediately.
