How To Make Copycat Bubba Gump’s Mama Blue’s Southern Charmed Fried Shrimp

  • 1 lbs. shrimp (peeled and deveined, jumbo )
  • ⅓ cup flour
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. black pepper
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cup bread crumbs
  • Vegetable oil (for deep frying)

Cocktail sauce ingredients

  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • ⅓ cup lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp horseradish
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ tsp. hot sauce

To make the sauce:

  1. Mix all the ingredients.

  2. When mixture turns smooth, cover and refrigerate it for 10 minutes.

To prepare the shrimp breading:

  1. Beat eggs in a bowl.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper.

  3. Place shrimp in flour and then dip them into egg mixture.
  4. Finally, dip in bread crumbs.

To cook:

  1. Pour vegetable oil into pot and heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Fry batches of shrimp to hot oil for about 1 minute.
  3. Arrange shrimp on platter. Drizzle with cocktail sauce.
