Caraway and Dill Pickles Recipe

How To Make Caraway and Dill Pickles

Tangy and flavorful, these pickles are a great snack or addition to sandwiches.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 5 minutes
Total: 20 minutes plus 3 days pickling time

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp caraway seeds
  • 2 tsp dill seeds
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • 12 baby cucumbers, sliced in halves or quarters lengthwise

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water, vinegar, sugar, and salt to a boil, stirring until sugar and salt dissolve.

  2. Remove from heat and stir in caraway seeds, dill seeds, and black peppercorns.

  3. Pack cucumbers in jars, then pour the hot liquid over the top to cover.

  4. Allow to cool, then cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 3 days before eating.
