How To Make Lemongrass and Lemongrass Panna Cotta

A refreshing take on the classic Italian dessert.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3 stalks lemongrass, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp gelatin powder
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, lemongrass, and sugar. Bring to a simmer over low heat, then remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes.

  2. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin powder over cold water and let sit for 5 minutes.

  3. Return the cream mixture to a simmer. Remove from heat and strain out the lemongrass. Add in the gelatin mixture and stir until dissolved.

  4. Stir in milk. Divide mixture evenly among four ramekins or glasses. Chill in fridge for at least 3 hours, or until set.

  5. To serve, dip bottom of ramekins or glasses in hot water for 5 seconds to loosen panna cotta. Turn over onto serving plates and enjoy!
