How To Make Japanese Beef and Radish Stew Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef chuck roast
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 3 radishes, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • sliced scallions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season beef with salt and pepper. In a dutch oven, heat up oil over medium-high heat and brown the beef on all sides. Transfer to a plate.

  2. In the same pot, sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant. Add the radish and cook for a few minutes.

  3. Pour in beef broth, soy sauce, and sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and add the beef.

  4. Cover and simmer for 2 hours or until beef is tender.

  5. Serve hot with rice and garnish with sliced scallions.
