Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, trimmed
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sake
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp grated garlic
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Season the beef with sesame oil, salt, and pepper.

  2. Heat a skillet over high heat and sear the beef for 1-2 minutes per side until browned.

  3. Let the beef rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly.

  4. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, ginger, and garlic.

  5. Arrange the beef slices on a plate and drizzle the sauce on top.

  6. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
