Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- Salt and pepper
- 8 slices of American cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 tomato slices
- 8 pickle slices
- Ketchup and mustard (optional)
Instructions

Preheat grill or skillet.

Divide ground beef into 8 patties and season with salt and pepper.

Cook patties for 3-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness is reached.

Add 2 slices of cheese on each patty and allow to melt.

Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in the oven.

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, then add lettuce, tomato, and pickles.

Place the patty with melted cheese on top of the toppings.

Add ketchup and mustard (optional) and place the top bun on the burger.
