How To Make Gino’s Tiramisu Recipe

A classic Italian dessert made with layers of mascarpone cream and coffee-soaked ladyfingers.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of strong black coffee, cooled
  • 1 tbsp of amaretto liqueur (optional)
  • 16 ladyfingers
  • 250g of mascarpone cheese
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup of caster sugar
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the coffee and amaretto (if using).

  2. Dip the ladyfingers into the coffee mixture for a few seconds and place them in a single layer in a serving dish.

  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks and caster sugar until thick and pale.

  4. Add in the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.

  5. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form.

  6. Gently fold the egg whites into the mascarpone mixture.

  7. Spoon half the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

  8. Repeat the process, covering the mascarpone layer with another layer of soaked ladyfingers, topped with the rest of the mascarpone mixture.

  9. Place the tiramisu in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  10. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
