A hot chocolate mixture poured over the batter makes the liquid center of the dessert casserole.
Chocolate Casserole Recipe
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 1/3 cup coarsely chopped honey roasted peanuts
- 2 tbsp crumbled chocolate flavored graham crackers optional
- whipped cream optional
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the flour, the 1/4 cup of sugar, and baking powder.
Add in the milk, oil, and vanilla then stir the mixture using a wire whisk until it smoothens.
Once the mixture becomes smooth, stir in the peanut butter and semisweet chocolate pieces.
Now, pour the batter into an ungreased 1-quart casserole then set it aside.
In the same mixing bowl, stir together the remaining sugar and cocoa then gradually stir in the boiling water.
Pour the mixture evenly over the batter in a casserole.
At this stage, you can now bake the overall mixture in the oven uncovered for 35-40 minutes until a wooden toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Once your casserole is done baking, remove it from the oven and top it with peanuts and, if desired, graham crackers.
