Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, diced onions, mustard

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is translucent.

  2. Drain excess fat from skillet.

  3. Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well to coat the meat and onions.

  4. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar to the skillet. Stir to combine.

  5. Bring chili sauce to a simmer and let cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. Meanwhile, heat hot dog buns in a toaster or oven.

  7. Serve hot dog buns topped with the hot dog chili sauce. Add optional toppings, if desired.
