How To Make Hot Dogs and Kraut
A simple layer of bacon and sauerkraut give intense and distinct flavors to this hot dog recipe. It’s so good and affordable that you’d skip the cart today.
Ingredients
Thousand Island Dressing:
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp chili sauce
- 1 tbsp onion, minced
- 1 tbsp green bell pepper, minced
- 1 tbsp dill pickle , or sweet pickle relish, or any of your preference, minced
- 2 tsp parsley, fresh, minced
For the Dogs:
- ¾ cup sauerkraut
- 6 hot dogs
- 6 hot dog buns
- 5 bacon slices, chopped and fried crisp
Instructions
- Prepare the dressing by combining all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Set it aside.
- Add in the sauerkraut and bacon in the dressing. Mix until combined.
- Heat the grill, bringing the temperature to high. Grill the hot dogs for about 3 to 5 minutes over high heat until deeply browned, rolling to crisp all surfaces.
- Place the dogs on the buns and serve with the sauerkraut. Enjoy!
