A chunky chutney like this one makes a splendid gift for friends and neighbors. Try storing the chutney in a decorated jar with a package of cream cheese and a box of crackers. It makes a lovely snack and is just as good alongside a main dish.

For this cranberry chutney recipe, the bitter-sweet flavor of the cranberries compliments the flavors of autumn favorite ingredients.

Total: 25 mins

  • 12 oz cranberries, fresh or frozen
  • cups sugar
  • ¾ cup water, or cranberry juice
  • oz green apples, chopped finely
