How To Make Bloves Sauce
Brimming with hearty spices, this bloves sauce offers a flavor-packed condiment using garlic, onion, and butter, for a delicious extra.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp paprika, or smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper, add more for the spicy version
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp lemon pepper
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp Cajun spice mix
- 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1 tbsp light brown sugar
- salt, to taste, optional
For Bloves Sauce:
- 12 tbsp garlic, minced, or cloves from about 4 whole bulbs
- ½ white onion, or yellow onion, small, rough chopped
- 2 cups butter, (4 sticks or 32 tbsp)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed, add the zest for a nice lemon boost
- 1 tbsp white vinegar, optional
- 1 tbsp tabasco sauce, optional
- 1 tbsp ground ginger, optional
- 1 tbsp red pepper flakes, crushed, optional
Instructions

In a small bowl, combine all of the seasoning ingredients. Hold off on adding the salt until the sauce is combined.
Bloves Sauce:

Add the peeled garlic cloves and roughly chopped onion to a blender or food processor and pulse a few times until finely chopped.

Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium-low heat and melt the butter. Increase the heat to medium then add the onion and garlic. Saute for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until the onion and garlic are softened slightly and aromatic.

Stir in chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, as well as any optional ingredients. Mix well. Add the seasoning mix and stir to combine, then bring to a low boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat after the sauce has reached a boil and all of the ingredients are well combined.
