  • 1 pound green beans, ends trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes, until bright green and crisp-tender. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the green beans and sauté for 2-3 minutes, until lightly browned.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, and brown sugar. Pour the sauce over the green beans and toss to coat evenly.

  4. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly and coats the beans.

  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

  6. Serve hot as a delicious side dish.
