Enjoy a savory Chinese classic with this stir-fried bok choy dish mixed in sesame oil, soy sauce, and ginger. It’s umami-rich and best served with rice.

  • 1tbspvegetable oil
  • 2clovesgarlic,crushed and chopped
  • 1tspginger,fresh
  • 8headsbaby bok choy
  • 1tspsesame oil
  • 1tbspsoy sauce
  • 1tbspwater
  • ¼tspchili flakes
  • sesame seeds,for garnish


  1. Combine sesame oil, soy sauce, water and chili flakes in a small bowl. Set aside.

  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet and cook the garlic and ginger until fragrant for about 1 to 2 minutes.

  3. Mix in the whites of the bok choy and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.

  4. Add soy sauce mixture and leaves and cook 2 minutes more or until heated through and leaves are gently wilted.

  5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
