Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 tilapia fillets
- 2 lemons, sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
-
Place the tilapia fillets on a steamer rack or in a steamer basket. Arrange the lemon slices on top of the fillets.
-
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and cornstarch. Pour the sauce over the fish and lemon slices.
-
Fill a pot or wok with water and bring it to a boil. Place the steamer rack or basket in the pot, making sure the water doesn’t touch the fish. Cover and steam for 10-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
-
While the fish is steaming, bring the remaining sauce to a boil in a small saucepan. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
-
Carefully remove the steamed fish from the pot and transfer to a serving plate. Drizzle with the teriyaki sauce and sprinkle with sliced green onions.
-
Serve the tilapia with steamed rice and your favorite vegetable for a complete meal.
