How To Make Pork, Lamb, & Beef Meatballs

  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1/2 lb. ground lamb
  • 1/2 lb. ground round
  • 1 cup parmesan (finely grated )
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (divided)
  • 1 whole wheat spaghetti
  • 1 jar store-bought tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup basil (chopped)
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pork, lamb, ground round, 1/2 cup parmesan, egg, basil, parsley, garlic powder, salt, red pepper flakes, and 1/4 cup of the bread crumbs. Using your hands, mix all ingredients until well incorporated.
  3. Place the remaining 1/4 cup of bread crumbs into a small bowl. Using your hands, shape the meatballs into rounds, roll in the bread crumbs and place the meatballs in individual, miniature muffin tin cups. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
  4. Cook pasta according to box instructions.
  5. While the pasta is cooking heat the tomato sauce.
  6. Plate desires amount of pasta and meatballs, top with tomato sauce, chopped basil, and grated parmesan.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1/2 lb. ground lamb, lean
  • 1/2 lb. ground round, lean
  • ½ cup parmesan, grated
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1/4 cup italian parsley, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic , grated
  • 1 cup red onion, grated
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp fresh oregano, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix bread crumbs, pepper flakes, salt, pepper with egg and milk using a whisk.

  2. Add your ground meat, garlic, onions and herbs to the bread crumbs mixture. This time using a silicone spatula, mix them well together. Cover and refrigerate for at least 45 mins.

  3. Spray a baking sheet with oil, or simply wrap it with kitchen foil.

  4. After chilling it should be easier for you to mold the ground meat mixture. Make 24 equal portions, and form them into balls then line them up in your baking sheet.

  5. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

  6. Bake for 15 to 20 mins, check if they are cooked through.

  7. Best served with greek salad, mashed potatoes and gravy or your favorite pasta with tomato sauce. Enjoy!
