Ingredients

  • 12 slices bread, of your choice, thick, crusts removed, toasted
  • ¼ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup monterey jack cheese, shredded
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp ground mustard
  • salt and ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine all the cheese and Italian seasoning, then set aside.

  2. Whisk the eggs, milk, and ground mustard until evenly incorporated.

  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust accordingly and set aside.

  4. Brush the bread slices with butter on all sides, and place 6 of these on the bottom of a greased crockpot or amount depending on the crockpot size.

  5. Fill the bread with the cheese mixture, then cover with the top portions.

  6. Pour the egg mixture around the sandwiches, and cover.

  7. Cook on High for 2 hours.

  8. Afterward, remove the lid and continue cooking for at least 15 minutes, or until the top turns crisp.

  9. Once your sandwiches are done cooking, slice and serve them immediately. Enjoy!
