How To Make Make-Ahead Apple Butter French Toast Casserole
You can make a tasty and filling breakfast for your whole family with this casserole recipe. It is easy to make and you can make this ahead too.
Ingredients
- 6 cups bread, cubed (Italian and sourdough works best)
- 7 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ cup apple butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar, for topping
Instructions

Cut the bread into 1” cubes. Crusty bread works best.

In a large bowl, mix together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and apple butter.

Place the bread in a baking dish and pour the egg mixture over it.

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F uncovered and top with brown sugar.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve with maple syrup, honey, or more apple butter.
