Mongolian Pork Skewers Recipe

How To Make Mongolian Pork Skewers

Having a backyard BBQ party? Then these Mongolian-style grilled pork skewers made with a sweet cola-hoisin sauce make a mouthwatering dish for just that!

Marinate Time: 30 minutes
Total: 1 hour



For Meat:

  • tsprice wine
  • 2tbspcornstarch
  • 1egg white
  • lbspork loin,(about 24 slices), or tenderloin, sliced thinly into rectangle-shaped pieces

For Sauce:

  • 2tspvegetable oil
  • 2tspginger,fresh, grated
  • 1tbspgarlic,fresh, minced
  • ¾cupCoca-Cola®
  • cupshoisin sauce
  • cuplow sodium soy sauce
  • 1tspsesame oil,toasted
  • ¼cupbrown sugar
  • 2tspcornstarch
  • 1bunchscallions,chopped, for garnish



  1. Soak six-inch skewers in water while you prepare meat. Whisk together the rice wine, cornstarch, and egg white until frothy.

  2. Coat the meat in the mixture and marinate for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

  3. Thread the meat onto skewers, and set aside.


  1. Add the vegetable oil to a pan and stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds over medium heat. Whisk in all the other ingredients except for green onions. Let the sauce simmer and thicken for about 5 minutes.

  2. Grill the skewers on a BBQ grill, under the broiler, or on a stovetop grill pan for 3 minutes per side, until cooked through and lightly browned. Remove skewers and place them on a serving platter.

  3. Coat them with the heated sauce and garnish with chopped scallions.

  4. Serve and enjoy.
