How To Make Souvlaki Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of boneless pork shoulder, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp of dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 4 pita breads
  • Tzatziki sauce, for serving
  • Chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. Add the pork cubes to the marinade and toss until evenly coated. Allow the pork to marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.

  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

  4. Thread the marinated pork cubes onto skewers, dividing evenly.

  5. Grill the skewers for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pork is fully cooked and nicely charred.

  6. While the pork is grilling, warm the pita breads on the grill for a few seconds on each side.

  7. Serve the grilled souvlaki skewers with warm pita breads, tzatziki sauce, and a side of chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions.
